Mental Health

We provided specialized psychological services for HIV/AIDS, Opiate Use Disorder, and LGBTQ+ communities. With a team of licensed psychologists, social workers, counselors, art therapists, peer specialists, and case managers offering integrative and holistic care, including medication management where available.

Mental Health Services

We offer psychological services for a variety of conditions and communities, including HIV/AIDS, Opiate Use Disorder, and LGBTQ+. Our team of mental health providers is trained to deliver specialized care in order to best meet the unique needs of the individuals that we care for. At ACG, you can expect your therapist to work with the rest of your care team to provide high quality integrative and holistic care. Our clinicians include licensed psychologists and professional counselors, as well as board certified art therapists, and therapists-in-training. ACG also employs certified peer specialists, case management, and psychiatry for medication management (availability varies by program).

Therapy for the HIV+ Community

Individuals living with HIV are more at risk for certain mental health concerns than people who do not have HIV. Depression, anxiety, and the stress of managing one’s physical health are only a few of the difficulties faced by the HIV+ community. Our clinicians can provide support and treatment for these difficulties, in addition to aiding in the recovery from trauma, addiction, and other chronic mental health conditions.

Therapy for Opiate Use Disorder and Other Addictions

Therapy for opiate addiction can aid the recovery process in several ways, from learning how to manage daily stressors to working on underlying trauma or other mental health concerns.

Therapy for the LGBTQ+ Community

We offer ongoing therapy, as well as consultations and letter writing for gender affirming medical procedures. The LGBTQ+ community is often faced with stigma and discrimination which contribute to the disproportionate rates of certain mental health conditions seen in LGBTQ+ individuals. Our clinicians provide care that is affirmative and inclusive of these identities and seek to empower individuals to live authentically.

Training Opportunities

Internship and Practicum Opportunities

We offer a variety of practicum and internship opportunities for therapists-in-training. We have accepted practicum students and interns from a number of psychology programs, such as Widener University, Immaculata University, and Chestnut Hill College, as well as Drexel University’s art therapy program.

Postdoctoral Residency Opportunities

We also offer a one-year full-time postdoctoral residency program in clinical psychology which is accredited on contingency by the American Psychological Association (APA).  This accreditation highlights the rigor of our training program, holds us to very high standards, makes us recognized and competitive nationally, and validates all of the hard work everyone has done to make ACG a world class program for the training of psychologists.

For information regarding this training opportunity, please visit the residency’s webpage.
