Food Pantry

Every week, our food pantry distributes over 10,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, canned goods, meat, and dairy to people living in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  We provide emergency food assistance to over 1,500 families each month.

ACG Health Food Bank Food Delivery

Food Pantry

The ACG Health Food Pantry is open to patients and members of the community Monday through Friday from 10am – 2pm.  Registration with the SHARE program is required and can be completed on-site.

We have pre-packed food bags which include dairy, protein, vegetables, fruit, canned goods, bread, and frozen meals.  Bag contents vary depending on availability.

Food is donated by Share Food Program, Philly Food Rescue, The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), Food 4 Friends, and Wegmans.

For established medical patients within 5 miles of our food pantry, we have a limited amount of DoorDash contact free deliveries available each week.  We also offer access to food in our medical offices.

Almost 250,000 people in Philadelphia lack access to nutritious food to live a healthy life.  Food insecurity is more complex than being physically hungry.  Access to nutritious food impacts mental health, brain development, and physical and financial well being.  The lack of access to nutritious food is caused by poverty.  To address food insecurity, you have to address poverty and the economic systems that isolate certain populations for access to resources like quality food.  One in ten people in the Philadelphia region are going through food insecurity.

A household is food insecure when it doesn’t have access to enough food for an active, healthy life for all its members. This is defined by the USDA and is used as a measurement by researchers, policy makers, and food relief services to analyze access to food across the county.

Food insecurity is more complex than simply not having grocery stores close by. People often live in areas with an abundance of grocery stores but that doesn’t mean they’re affordable for most.

79% of those surveyed by ACG Health said they worried their food would run out before they had money to buy more.  70% stated that the food they bought just did not last.  53% of participants did not have money to buy food.
